Questions and answers
How accurate are the prayer times?
Sakinah calculates the times on your phone with your country's official or most widely used method. They were checked day by day against the official timetables of JAKIM (Malaysia), Kemenag (Indonesia), MUIS (Singapore), Diyanet (Türkiye), Umm al-Qura (Saudi Arabia), the Egyptian General Authority of Survey and Qatar, and every time was within two minutes.
Will the adhan play when my phone is asleep?
Yes. The reliability check finds the settings that can make an adhan late or silent, including the extra battery steps on Xiaomi, Samsung, Huawei, OPPO and vivo phones, and the test adhan lets you hear exactly how it will play at prayer time.
How do I stop the adhan?
From the notification, with a volume key, by turning the phone face down, or with the big Stop button on the lock screen.
Does Sakinah need the internet or my location?
Prayer times are calculated on your phone, also without internet. Sakinah uses your approximate location once to find your city, and your location never leaves your phone.
Are there ads?
There are no ads on the adhan, the Qibla compass or during setup, and none from 15 minutes before to 20 minutes after every prayer. All ads are muted, and one purchase removes them forever. No subscription.
Which languages does Sakinah speak?
English, العربية, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, اردو, বাংলা, فارسی, Türkçe, Français, Русский, Deutsch and हिन्दी.
